Visualization of the relationship between numbers.
Use the flower of life pattern to display ratios.
Each graphic consists of circles only.

An oscillating string can be displayed as above.
Each vibrating string can be seen as a standing wave.

There are higher frequencies for the same vibrating string. The half, third, quarter … of the original string’s wavelength. These can be experienced as overtones on a guitar.

Finally, you can create two vibrations at the same time. Both patterns overlap.
We experience the relationship between the two vibrations in the music as overtones.

Playing with the “Flower of Life” pattern, I realized that a single petal shape is very similar to a vibrating string.

Also, each oscillation line has parallel companions.

So you can apply the same principle by superimposing two patterns to create harmonic interference.

Finally, I decided to fill the lines with a black and white pattern to highlight the differences.
Please note that there is also a negative white and black image for every black and white image.

2 : 1 the oktave

3 : 2 The fifth

4 : 3 The fourth

Finally, one can get an overview of the full range of possible ratios.

Here is an overview of the interferences of the Flower of Life:
